I love flowers so much. They are nature and art put together in the most simple and complex ways. It just snowed here in Minnesota, after a week of springy weather. Leaving most of us feeling the pain of winter setting in. Yes- winter is amazing, but there comes a point when we crave sunshine and heat and color. Not to mention the difficulty of playing outside and camping in the wilderness when it's all mud and water. This is our off-season in a way. And that's hard. So here are a few of my favorite flowers from 2015, to remind everyone that soon enough spring is coming.
"Earth laughs in flowers." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
Seeing insects doing what they love to do is as exciting to me as seeing any other wild animal. Ummm... that means I get very excited.
A goal I am very stoked for this year is to develop my photography skills when it comes to flowers and smaller subjects. I find it a challenge to capture what I'm seeing without encompassing whole landscapes. If you have any tips, please check out the contact page and shoot me an email. I'd love any advice.
"Flowers are those little colorful beacons of the sun from which we get sunshine when dark, somber skies blanket our thoughts." -Dodinsky
The lovely flowers embarrass me,
They make me regret I am not a bee
Our world offers us beauty in so many ways. It's important to stop and enjoy it. To pause throughout the day and have a look around. I bet wherever you are right now, there is something lovely to see.
Here's to a quick February and a gentle March. Soon the sun will wake up the sleepy north and all will turn green. Splashed with many colors and amazing scents. Think of the morning birds singing and carry that with you today.
