On the summer solstice, Jon and I camped in the petrified forest of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We had so much fun playing in the heat and exploring a landscape that was unique, desolate and gorgeous. Surrounded by buffalo and cactus. This also was the night of the full moon, which made for a very romantic evening. We watched the sunset in front of us and turned to see the moon rising behind us. We were alone in this very odd wilderness. The only noises were our own voices, the rustling wind and coyotes. In the morning we were greeted with an immaculate sunrise, wild horses, buffalo and a nice cool breeze.
